Town Hall Clock

imgres.jpg
Susan commented recently on the poor condition of the Town Hall Clock.  Since then, I have learned that the clock has holes in it thanks to some target practice which took place decades ago by several of Needham's finest gendarmes.  And it all happened when they were...um... "on the clock"  (as it were).

Incredible. So the pigeons have been flying in and out for decades! Why am I not surprised. They'll probably close town hall soon as a hazardous waste site.

I mean really - should we spend $32 million to completely re-do the town hall? Why not spiff up the outside and first floor as a 'show' then RENT class A office space on Kendrick St so the town and school admin could function in this century. We could probably do a swap of re taxes for rent and be ahead of the game. Why do town offices have to be in the town hall or the town center? We all have cars don't we? OR - build an office building on the vacant land at the dump (I'm sure there's a pun in there somewhere)- we all have to go there anyway and I'm sure it would be way less than 32 Million!
